Hessequa will host two major International Amateur Soccer Tournaments during the 2010 World Cup, in which several international amateur teams have shown an interest: 3 July – 11 July 2010: Hessequa Six-a-Side and Eleven-a-Side Soccer Tournaments at Riverville. Social, Economic and Sport Legacies: Hessequa 2010 fundraising will encourage contributions in the form of materials, services, donations, sponsorships and corporate social responsibility funding.
Participants, visitors and supporting institutions can assist the ‘Hessequa 2010 Legacy Projects’ by: Visiting Hessequa; participating in the soccer tournaments; donating funds; contributing materials; providing soccer and hospitality training, and building or upgrading of facilities.
This funding and support will be implemented for various legacy projects: Training in Emergency Services, Tourism and Hospitality, and Entrepreneurial and basic business skills; Small- micro and medium enterprise development; Establishment and upgrading of soccer and mini-soccer facilities; Equipment, and development of sports initiatives.

Go Hessequa! Six-a-Side Soccer Tournaments kick off FIFA World Cup Soccer mania.
The whole of South Africa is gearing up for the FIFA 2010 World Cup Soccer and excitement has reached fever pitch, even the smallest towns and villages.
In the Hessequa it is no different!
‘Hessequas’ are known for celebrating all occasions with great vigour and as part of an ongoing program, Hessequa District Municipality hosted Six-a-side soccer tournaments at Albertinia as part of the Aalwyn Festival; at Riversdale, and at Stilbaai as part of the X-treme Festival.
The tournaments were open to players of all ages and from all areas. Events assisted with fundraising for the Hessequa 2010 Legacy Projects.
World Cup Base Camps
The Western Cape will play host to Brazil at the Fairway in Cape Town, Denmark at the Simola Hotel Country Club in Knysna, France at the Pezula Resort Hotel and Spa in Knysna, and Japan at the Fancourt Hotel and Country Club outside George.
Teams to be based around Pretoria are Argentina - High Performance Centre, Germany - Velmore Hotel in Centurion, Italy - Leriba Lodge, Slovakia - Villas Luxury Suite Hotel, and United States - Irene Country Lodge.
Australia - Kloofzicht Lodge, New Zealand - Serengeti Estate, and Switzerland - Emerald Resort and Casino.
Those based in KwaZulu-Natal are Algeria - Zimbali Lodge, Cameroon - Oyster Box, Greece - Beverly Hills Hotel, Ivory Coast - Riverside Hotel and Spa, Nigeria - Hampshire, Paraguay - Woodridge Country Estate, and Portugal - Valley Lodge.
Teams based in North West province are England - Bafokeng Sports Campus, Spain - North West University campus, and South Korea - Hunters Rest Hotel.
Provinces hosting only a single team are Mpumalanga, with Chile based at the Ingwenyama Conference Centre; the Eastern Cape, with Ghana based at Rhoode Valley; and the Northern Cape, with Uruguay based at the Protea Hotel Kimberley.
The list is subject to change, as teams could still move their base camps.
