Yes, it is "Olof Bergh" Witsand Baby Whale Festival time again! Attached below you will find our advertising poster / flyer, and the live entertainment! We have amazing stalls this year - to name but a few; Jacob's Art, Biltong, Wire Works, Lavender Farm, Olyfberg Olives, Overberg Bottle Craft, Red Tag, Steel chameleon. We will have a Miss Baby Whale and Miss Pansy Shell competition...

Olof Bergh 2010 Baby Whale Festival

From June to November each year schools of southern right whales take up temporary residence along the coast of Hessequa. In 2009, 117 adults and 49 calves were counted from a helicopter.
The coastal town of Witsand boasts the largest concentration of southern right whales during the calving season, earning it its reputation as THE Whale Nursery of South Africa.
