Hessequa Nature and Arts Festival

The Hessequa Nature and Arts Festival promises to be an awe-inspiring event with the Flower show, displaying the bountiful spring season abundance of local fynbos wildflowers and plants. This show will be complimented by a variety of stalls selling local food and beverages, as well as Cheese and wine. Live music entertainment will be provided by Afrikaans music, performing artists, while the young will be entertained with traditional 'boeresports'. Ratem Eistadfod

Ratem means Riversdale Amateur and Dramatic and music society. This is a great event that takes place annually in which learners participate in drama, performance, choir, instruments, orchestras, art and writing. All schools in the Hessequa are involved in this event. It also helps with development and education of learners.

The school offers only one major fundraiser during the year in which all parents are involved and work hard in order to reach target sum. The Acre Festival includes the following: Miss Oakdale, Oakdale Cheese and Wine Function, Oakdale Acre Dance and the Oakdale Acre Sports day.

Albertinia’s annual Aloe Festival offers local hospitality, good food and wine, a 100 km quad bike fun run, live entertainment by well-known local and national artists, a golf day, flea market, wines from 20 cellars, various competitions and an interdenominational Sunday church service.
Well known artists like Leani Mey and Ray Dylan are but a few of the artist that will be performing.
 
The proposed program for the festival period start  on Friday the 28th September 2012 at the Festival Hall.
The morning session will be followed by a Wine Tasting Experience.
At the Albertinia Golf Course the annual Golf Competition and sponsored by the famous Louis Oosthuizen.
At the Theronsville Sports Grounds a rugby match will star the famous Rangers Rugby Team.
Music will be provided by well known artists throughout the whole day.
 
On Saturday  the 29th the festivities will begin with a Street March starting at the Albertinia High School through the Town
ending at the Festival Grounds.
At 11h00 the Quad Bike Extreme and 4x4's  will show off their skill in daring races and stunts.
Entertainment for the younger visitors will be provided and presented by Jackie Breyl who just knows how to keep them busy.
Visitors at the Festival Grounds can browse at the various stalls that are open from 09h00 whilst the kiddies can
enjoy the Play Grounds, Jumping Castle and Paintball games. Other entertainment for children shall be provided.
Back ground music will be performed by Charles with Basjan,  Anel, Stofpad and local artists performing throughout
the morning.
The Dog Show will be handled by Marijke Uys and you can rest assure that your doggie will receive a prize.
The BEER GARDEN will be host to musical pleasures from all the artists throughout the day, and will carry on until
midnight when this years festivities will, sadly, come to an end.'AYOBA'
