Arts and Crafts Fundraising (Still Bay Animal Protection)

Tuesday, 27 March, 2012 - 09:00 - Thursday, 29 March, 2012 - 17:00

Well known for the Fair held in December this is the first one to be held during the Easter school holidays, and is being done by popular demand, both by the vendors and some of the many holiday makers who love our town.
It is a fund raising event organised by Stilbaai Animal Protection, a voluntary organization that helps many animals in the area, whether they are domestic, farm or wildlife from the wilderness areas around our small town. (Yes, even the odd snake or two!) The first Arts and Crafts Fair was held in December six years ago and has become an annual  event. The Fair is held to promote, demonstrate and sell the articles made by 'local' people, however as we have become more successful we now have vendors from other parts of the country, although the majority are still our own residents. We do not allow manufactured goods, especially those imported from China, India etc as this would defeat the object of the Fair. Items for sale range from  work by artists and craftsmen and cover a wide range of products from olives and truffles, plants, paintings and décor items, recyled tins, wirework and woodwork, toys to jewellery, soaps and beauty products (organic and not tested on animals), plus lots of edible goodies - rusks, jams and biscuits (and lots of cupcakes!). There is also a coffee shop so energy levels can be replenished before heading back into the sales area. Prices suit all pockets, R2 to R2000. We invite all our residents and visitors to come and enjoy the Fair and share with us the pleasure and productivity of living in our small town!
