Agri-TourismSTILBAAI: KASSELSHOOP HOMEMADE TRADITIONAL CHEESE: Kasselhoop’s traditional cheese is produced on the Kasselman family farm. The factory produces about six tons of cheese for packaging and distribution to retail outlets in the Western, Eastern, Southern Cape and Johannesburg. Staff are all locals and receive on-the-job training. In 2008 their cheese-maker was sent to France for training in the finer art of cheese- making. Kasselshoop produces white and yellow cheddar, Gouda and flavoured cheeses. Contact: WILD OLIVE GUEST FARM On the banks of the Goukou River, Wild Olive Guest Farm offers accommodation, as well as a course on the permaculture principles, which are suitable for anyone looking to equip themselves with the tools to live sustainably. Permaculture means careful and contemplative observation of nature and natural systems, and recognising universal patterns and principles. Contact: OLYFENHOUT – OLIVE FARM: Olyfenhout is 7km from Still Bay. Here Matthew Anderson grows and processes olives into the finest olive oil and other products, as well as a skincare range. Raw olives can be purchased. Contact: EDENBERG WINES Edenberg Wines is the only wine farm in the Hessequa region and offers wine tastings and cellar tours. Contact: “DIE OU TRONK PLAASMARK” A Farmers market is held every Saturday where freshly baked products, vegetables and handmade products are sold. Contact: SKEIDING GUEST FARM Skeiding is a working ostrich, sheep, cattle, wheat and canola farm close to the N2 and halfway (250 km) between Cape Town and Knysna. Guests can participate in the daily chores that include feeding ostriches and milking cows. The finest skincare and health & wellness products are produced here. Contact: ALOE FEROX Aloe Ferox is a family owned business that strives to provide high-quality, affordable products. They are member of the Society for Cosmetic Chemists and the International Federation for the Society of Cosmetic Chemists and founder members of the South African Aloe Council. Contact: GARDEN ROUTE THATCH Manufacturing and supply of Cape reed thatch products which are used in an efficient DIY installation of Cape Reed thatch structures, umbrellas, and gazebos. The thatch comes directly from the farms and is used locally and internationally on residential and commercial projects. Contact: GARDEN ROUTE QUAILS Bottled quail eggs. The eggs are pickled and bottled for retail and can be used in salads and as snacks. Eighty per cent of the quail meat is deboned and packaged for retail. Contact: ALBERTINIA FINE FOODS Specialise in aloe jams. These products are the result of an initiative by a group of previously disadvantaged women from Albertinia, using traditional recipes passed down through generations and making use of the Aloe Ferox leaves that are grown in the region. Contact: AGRI-PHYTO The DBXtreme is a minimum till agricultural seeder. Albertinia is one of only two places in the world manufacturing these specialised seeders. Contact: SARUK ARABIANS Breeders and trainers of Saruk Arabian horses for export. Contact: THE SUNSHADERS Since its inception in 1978, The Sunshaders has been driven by its export focus. The idea was to manufacture a flexible tile from Cape reed. In 1995 the company built a purpose designed factory. Contact: WITSAND WATERKLOOF GUESTHOUSE Waterkloof B&B is the ideal base from which to explore Witsand, view whales (June to November), visit nearby De Hoop Nature Reserve and ride the last hand-operated ‘pont’ (ferry) in South Africa, across the Breede River at Malgas. Contact: WESTFIELD HOLIDAY FARM The nine kilometer 4x4 nature route on the farm offers the opportunity to appreciate the beautiful Cape fynbos, prolific bird-life and pristine beaches of Witsand (THE Whale Nursery of southern Africa) and whale-watching (June to November) .
